This is the genuine Kripsol pair of hinged cover screws (vis de couvercle) for the pre-filter (PPE) housing on the Koral and Mini Kapri pool pump range. They are the fasteners that clamp the transparent polycarbonate lid down onto the strainer pot, creating the seal needed for the pump to hold prime and operate under pressure.

What these cover screws do in the Koral / Kapri

The two wing screws thread into the pre-filter housing and bear down on the lid to compress the cover O-ring against the housing rim. Without firm, undamaged screws, the lid cannot generate enough clamping force to keep that seal airtight. A loose or broken screw lets air ingress at the lid, causing the pump to lose prime and cavitate. Tighten them finger-tight after every basket inspection — no tools required for routine closure.

Because they are exposed to UV and pool chemicals continuously, plastic fatigue is the typical failure mode rather than sudden breakage.

How to install them

Lift the old screws out of their hinge brackets on the pre-filter housing — no tools needed for removal. Drop the new screws into the hinge slots, ensuring the pivot pin seats fully. Refit the lid, swing both screws over the lid rim, and tighten finger-tight in a cross pattern to compress the O-ring evenly. Run the pump briefly and check the lid joint for bubbles or weeping before returning the system to normal operation.
