Rated at 9.5 kW / 12.5 HP and drawing 17.7 A on a 400 V three-phase supply, the Waterco Hydrostar Plus sits at the heart of the European commercial pump range and is purpose-built for large public pools, aquatic centres, and water parks. Its 6″ flanged suction port and 4″ flanged discharge port are sized for the high-volume pipework found in commercial plant rooms, and the 91 kg unit runs at 2,960 RPM to deliver the head and flow that demanding installations require.

Vessel construction & corrosion resistance

The pump body is injection-moulded from glass-reinforced thermoplastic — a seamless, one-piece housing with no welds, seams, or internal linings that can corrode or electrolyse over time. This material offers superior mechanical and chemical resistance compared to fabricated steel, standing up to aggressive water-treatment chemicals without degradation. A clear polycarbonate strainer lid gives operators an instant view of the pre-filter basket without removing any components.

Impeller & hydraulic design

An enclosed, glass-filled Noryl impeller drives hydraulic performance while resisting the chemical and thermal stresses common in commercial circulation. The self-priming design simplifies commissioning and reduces the risk of air-lock during operation — an important consideration in large plant rooms where prime loss can disrupt circulation across multiple filtration vessels.

Motor & electrical specification

The heavy-duty motor carries an IP55 weatherproof rating, making it suitable for installation in exposed or partially open plant rooms. The 431-grade stainless steel shaft resists corrosion and pitting, and the carbon-face mechanical seal provides a reliable dynamic seal between the wet end and the motor. With a current draw of 17.7 A at 400 VAC three-phase, the unit should be wired and commissioned by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical regulations.
