An 80-metre spool of Tangit Uni-Lock yields approximately 240 individual seals on ½” threads, making it an economical choice for installers working across multiple pool hydraulic connections. Rated to 130 °C and approved to both DVGW and WRAS standards, it is equally suited to hot-water, cold-water, and pressurised pool pipework. The nylon fibre construction is impregnated with a silicone-based solution, providing an immediate, leak-free seal on both conical and cylindrical threaded fittings in metal or plastic.

Sealing performance & pressure rating

Once wound onto a thread, Uni-Lock allows immediate system pressurisation — up to 16 bar for water installations — and resists water hammer and vibration without creeping or relaxing. Joints can still be fine-adjusted up to approximately one-eighth of a turn after assembly without breaking the seal, and can be fully dismantled with standard tools should access or re-routing be required.

Compatibility & approvals

Tangit Uni-Lock carries DVGW certification (EN 751-2 / DIN 30660) for gas and hot-water systems and WRAS approval (BS 6920) for hot drinking water, making it compliant for pool plant rooms across mainland Europe and the United Kingdom. It works on metal and plastic threads alike — suitable for pump unions, filter heads, heat-pump connections, and any other threaded joint in pool pipework.

Modern alternative to hemp & PTFE tape

Unlike hemp and jointing paste, Uni-Lock requires no additional compound: the thread is applied dry and cleanly directly to the fitting. It is far less likely to unravel mid-assembly than PTFE tape, and leaves no residue in the water circuit. The compact spool is easy to carry and store in a service kit, saving time on multi-connection installations.
