Description

Zodiac eXO iQ 18 / Tri 18 replacement cell R0758500

The Zodiac eXO iQ 18 / Tri 18 replacement cell R0758500 is the original 18 g/h salt chlorinator electrode for a wide range of Zodiac systems.
With an eleven plate self cleaning titanium cell, it restores full chlorine production and efficiency on installations where the original electrode
has reached the end of its service life.

Main features of the Zodiac eXO iQ 18 replacement cell

  • Original Zodiac 18 g/h replacement cell for eXO, eXO iQ, Tri, Tri Expert and Hydroxinator iQ 18 models.
  • Eleven plate titanium electrode with precious metal coating for long service life.
  • Self cleaning design with polarity inversion to limit scale build up on the plates.
  • Anti scale cell housing for more stable performance in hard water areas.
  • Supplied complete and ready to fit in the existing clear cell body of compatible chlorinators.

Technical details

Compatibility and cross references

The R0758500 cell is used across several Zodiac salt chlorination platforms and appears in multiple exploded views under the same reference.
It is the correct electrode when your original cell label shows 18 g/h and R0758500.

  • Zodiac eXO 18 (for example WW000167 and WW000331).
  • Zodiac eXO iQ 18 (WW000163 and WW000327).
  • Zodiac Tri 18 and Tri Expert 18 (WW000048 and WW000052).
  • Zodiac Hydroxinator iQ 18 R for MagnaPool installations (WW000337).

Always compare the reference on the old cell and the technical documentation of your chlorinator. If the parts list specifies โ€œelectrode eXO iQ 18โ€
with code R0758500, this replacement cell is the correct match.

When to replace the Zodiac R0758500 cell

Salt chlorinator cells are consumable items. Even with polarity inversion, the coating on the titanium plates wears gradually, which reduces
chlorine output and efficiency.

  • The chlorinator must run for much longer than before to maintain the same free chlorine level.
  • Alarm or low production messages appear despite correct salinity, clean cell and correct settings.
  • The plates show strong discolouration, visible wear or permanent scale that cannot be removed following the manufacturer procedure.
  • The pool requires frequent shock treatments because the residual chlorine falls too quickly.

If these symptoms persist after checking salinity, water balance and programming, replacing the old electrode with a new Zodiac R0758500 cell
restores the original 18 g/h production capacity.

Installation and start up

Replacing the R0758500 cell is straightforward and can usually be done by the pool owner as part of periodic maintenance.

  • Stop the filtration pump and isolate the chlorinator before opening the cell housing.
  • Release the unions on the clear cell body and remove it from the pipework if required by the installation.
  • Unplug the cell cable and slide the old electrode out of the transparent housing, noting its orientation.
  • Rinse the housing and check the O rings and unions, replacing seals if they are flattened or cracked.
  • Insert the new R0758500 electrode into the housing in the same orientation and reconnect the cable firmly.
  • Reinstall the complete cell in the pipework, tighten the unions by hand and then start the filtration pump to check for leaks.
  • Once watertight, re energise the chlorinator and confirm that it recognises the cell and produces correctly at the selected output.

Good practice to extend cell lifetime

Correct operating conditions have a direct impact on the lifetime of the new Zodiac eXO iQ 18 / Tri 18 cell.

  • Keep salt concentration within the range specified in the chlorinator manual.
  • Maintain pH close to 7.2โ€“7.4 to optimise disinfection and limit scale formation.
  • Only clean the cell when necessary and always follow the recommended procedure and acid dilution.
  • Avoid running the chlorinator with closed valves or without sufficient flow through the cell.
  • Check water balance (alkalinity, hardness and stabiliser) regularly to remain within recommended values.

With a correctly installed Zodiac R0758500 cell and proper water balance, your eXO iQ, Tri Expert or Hydroxinator iQ system can again deliver stable,
energy efficient salt chlorination for many seasons.
