Water-ID – PoolLab 2.0 Total Hardness Liquid Reagent Kit (50 Tests)

This genuine Water-ID liquid reagent kit allows you to measure total hardness in pool and spa water using the PoolLab 2.0 photometer. Total hardness reflects the combined concentration of dissolved calcium and magnesium salts, and monitoring it is essential for preventing scale deposits, protecting pool equipment, and keeping water balanced. Each kit delivers up to 50 photometer-grade tests across a measurement range of 0–500 mg/l (ppm).

Why Total Hardness Matters

When total hardness is too high, calcium carbonate can precipitate out of solution — especially as water heats up or when pH rises above 8.2 — leading to unsightly scale on pool surfaces, pipework, and heat exchangers. Too-soft water is equally damaging, becoming corrosive to pool liners, metal fittings, and pump components. Regular testing lets you catch imbalances early and dose corrective chemicals with precision.

What’s in the Kit

The kit contains two dropper bottles — a 20 ml Total Hardness Reagent No. 1 and a 10 ml Total Hardness Reagent No. 2 — both formulated specifically for use with Water-ID photometers. Simply add the drops to your sample cuvette in the correct sequence and let the PoolLab 2.0 calculate the result automatically. Note that liquid reagents have a shelf life of 6 months; store them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place out of reach of children.

Genuine Water-ID Quality

Made by Water-i.d. GmbH in Germany, these reagents are matched to the photometric calibration curves built into the PoolLab 2.0, ensuring the readings you get are lab-grade accurate. Using genuine Water-ID consumables protects both your measurement integrity and your photometer investment — third-party substitutes can introduce errors that calibrated instrument curves cannot compensate for.
