This double-union ball valve from VDL is manufactured in unplasticised PVC (PVC-U) and is designed for reliable on/off flow control in pool circulation, chemical dosing, irrigation, and industrial fluid-handling systems. The 40 mm glue-socket (solvent-weld) connections accept standard PVC-U pipe and fittings conforming to the same outside diameter, making it a direct drop-in choice for new builds and retrofit projects alike. A rated working pressure of 16 bar at 20 °C gives a comfortable safety margin in high-demand installations.
The DIL type features two union nuts that allow the valve body to be removed from the pipeline without disturbing the pipe ends — an invaluable time-saver during maintenance or replacement. Viton (FKM) seat and O-ring seals deliver excellent resistance to chlorinated water, mild acids, fuels, and a broad range of industrial chemicals, outperforming standard EPDM seals in hydrocarbon or solvent-laden media. The green lever handle provides an instant visual open/closed indication and requires only a 90-degree turn for full actuation. Operating temperature is rated from 0 °C to 60 °C, suitable for both cold-water and moderately warm process lines.

Compatibility
The 40 mm glue sockets accept standard PVC-U pressure pipe with a 40 mm outside diameter (e.g. ISO 1452 / DIN 8062 PN16 pipe). Both union ends are identical, making the valve bidirectional and flow-direction independent. The Viton seals are compatible with chlorinated pool water, potable cold water, brine, many dilute acids and bases, and light hydrocarbon-based fluids within the stated temperature and pressure limits. This valve is not recommended for use with concentrated oxidising acids, ketones, or esters. Always verify chemical compatibility against the fluid’s specific concentration and temperature before installation.
