VDL DIL Series PVC-U Ball Valve – 32 mm Glue Socket, 16 bar, Viton Seals

The VDL DIL ball valve in PVC-U is a robust, full-bore shut-off valve designed for demanding industrial, pool, and irrigation pipework. Built to a true double-union (DIL) construction, the valve can be removed from the line for inspection or replacement without disturbing the surrounding pipework. The 32 mm glue-socket ends accept standard PVC-U pipe directly, creating a permanent, leak-free joint rated to 16 bar at ambient temperatures. Viton (FKM) seals make this valve well-suited for chemically aggressive media including chlorinated pool water, mild acids, and a wide range of industrial fluids where EPDM would be insufficient.

The grey PVC-U body is corrosion-proof, lightweight, and UV-stabilised, while the bright green lever provides instant visual confirmation of valve position – parallel to the pipe means open, perpendicular means closed. The 90° quarter-turn operation keeps maintenance fast and straightforward for installers and site operators alike. An operating temperature range of 0 °C to 60 °C covers year-round outdoor and indoor service in temperate to warm climates.

Compatibility

This valve is compatible with 32 mm outside-diameter PVC-U pressure pipe conforming to ISO 1452 / EN 1452 and joined with standard PVC solvent-cement. The double-union design accepts the same spigot ends used on VDL and other major-brand fittings in the 32 mm series. Viton seals are suitable for chlorinated water, salt water, many dilute acids and alkalis, and a wide range of organic chemicals; always verify chemical compatibility against a Viton resistance chart before use with aggressive solvents or concentrated oxidisers. Not suitable for potable water applications in jurisdictions that require WRAS or KTW approval unless independently certified.
