Sta-Rite Pool Pump 5P2R / S5P2R exploded view & spare parts

This page provides the full exploded-view diagram and numbered bill of materials (BOM) for the Sta-Rite 5P2R and S5P2R single-phase pool pump family — four power ratings in all: 0.37 kW (5P2RC-1 / S5P2RC-1), 0.55 kW (5P2RD-1 / S5P2RD-1), 0.75 kW (5P2RE-1 / S5P2RE-1), and 1.10 kW (5P2RF-1 / S5P2RF-1). The 5P2R is the standard freshwater version, while the S5P2R is its salt-water-rated counterpart, sharing identical dimensions and hydraulics but using a stainless-steel motor shaft and high-grade internal components. Both series are widely installed on domestic pools across Europe and have been a long-standing benchmark in the industry. Use the diagram and table below to identify your numbered part and locate the correct SKU in minutes.

How to use the numbered diagram to find your part

Every numbered call-out in the exploded-view diagram corresponds directly to a row in the parts list beneath it — locate the area of the pump where your failed or worn component sits, then read off the position number printed alongside it. Once you have that number, find the matching row in the table and note the SKU; that SKU is what you add to your basket. Be aware that the same position number can appear in more than one location on the drawing: for example, position 3 (bolts, qty 4) and position 12 (bolts and washers, qty 3) each cover a set of fasteners used at different joints, so confirm you are looking at the correct assembly area before ordering. Many positions carry a letter suffix — 1a, 1c, 1e, 1g or 9a, 9c, 9e, 9g — where each letter denotes a different power rating, not a cosmetically similar part; fitting the wrong variant can result in incorrect hydraulic performance or a motor mismatch. Similarly, positions 4a / 4b and 11a / 11b designate parts that are physically different sizes depending on the kW output of your pump, so always cross-check your pump’s model code (printed on the motor nameplate) before selecting. If your position number has no SKU listed, that part is currently available to order on request — contact us directly and we will confirm availability.

Main replaceable assemblies on the Sta-Rite 5P2R / S5P2R

The pump is built around four main functional zones, each containing parts that are commonly replaced during routine servicing or fault repair. The motor and capacitor assembly (positions 1a / 1c / 1e / 1g for the motor, and 1a1 / 1c1 / 1e1 / 1g1 for the respective run capacitors) drives the entire pump; capacitors are a frequent wear item on single-phase motors and are available individually by power rating — 12.5 µF (SKU 7010422), 16 µF (SKU 7010425), 20 µF (SKU 7010426), and 31 µF (SKU 7010429). The seal and back-plate zone encompasses the seal plate assembly (position 2) and the mechanical seal (position 6, SKU 7010701), which is formulated for salt-water resistance; the volute-side O-ring at position 5 and the strainer-pot O-ring at position 13 complete the static sealing circuit and should be renewed whenever the pump is opened. The wet-end hydraulics — impeller (positions 9a / 9c / 9e / 9g), impeller lock screw (position 10), and diffuser (positions 11a / 11b) — are the heart of the pump’s flow performance; each impeller SKU (7012216, 7012218, 7012220, 7012222) is matched to a specific motor power and must not be interchanged between ratings. The strainer pot and lid section groups the strainer pot body (position 18, SKU 7012224), the debris basket (position 19, SKU 7010652), the large lid O-ring (position 20, SKU 7010706), the transparent lid (position 21, SKU 7010692), and the dedicated lid wrench (position 22, SKU 7012225); these parts take the most frequent handling and are often the first to show wear or cracking. The volute (position 14) ties the wet-end together, with its square gasket at position 16 providing the seal between the strainer pot and volute faces. Finally, the drain plug (position 15, SKU 7010657) is a small but important part — it is the first thing to check when a pump shows signs of dripping at the base.

Choosing between variants and pack sizes

Before adding any lettered variant to your basket, locate your pump’s full model code on the motor nameplate — for example, 5P2RC-1 confirms the 0.37 kW rating, which maps to position suffix “C” throughout the BOM (1a, 1a1, 4a, 9a, 11a). Choosing a capacitor or impeller from an adjacent letter group — say, a 1c1 / 16 µF capacitor for a 5P2RC-1 motor — may appear superficially similar but will affect starting torque or hydraulic output. The base also splits by power band: position 4a covers the 0.37 kW and 0.55 kW units, while position 4b fits the 0.75 kW and 1.10 kW units, so the physical footprint differs between the two groups. For fastener positions such as 3 (bolts, qty 4) and 12 (bolts and washers, qty 3), the quantities listed in the BOM reflect the number of pieces used per pump, so order accordingly if you are replacing a full set rather than a single damaged bolt. When in doubt about which variant applies to your installation, have the nameplate code to hand before placing your order, or contact our team for confirmation.
