The Rain Bird 2W-1 is a field decoder designed for large-scale 2-wire irrigation systems operating on 230 VAC / 50 Hz mains supply. Each decoder module connects directly onto the 2-wire path using its two blue lead wires and drives up to one valve solenoid via the two black output wires, allowing a single pair of field cables to control up to 50 independently addressed stations when multiple decoders are distributed along the same path. Commissioning is straightforward: blue wires connect to the 2-wire path and black wires connect to the valve solenoid. A built-in multi-colour LED provides real-time diagnostics without additional test equipment — a blinking green light confirms an active station, solid red signals a solenoid wiring short, blinking red indicates an open solenoid circuit, solid blue activates power-measure mode, and blinking blue triggers address-discovery mode.
