Hanna Instruments replacement EC/TDS electrode for HI98311 and HI98312 (HI73311)

The HI73311 is the replacement conductivity/TDS electrode for the Hanna Instruments HI98311 (DiST 5) and HI98312 (DiST 6) pocket testers. It carries the graphite conductivity sensor and the built-in temperature sensor used for automatic temperature compensation. Fitting a fresh electrode restores measurement accuracy on a tester whose readings have started to drift or will no longer calibrate.

What it fits

This electrode is designed for the Hanna Instruments DiST 5 (HI98311) and DiST 6 (HI98312) pocket EC/TDS testers. It is not interchangeable with pH testers or with other DiST models that use a different sensor body. Check the model number printed on the meter housing before ordering.

Fitting the electrode

The electrode screws onto the base of the tester body after the old unit is unthreaded and discarded. No tools are required; hand-tighten only so the seal seats correctly and the housing stays watertight. After fitting, rinse the new sensor and recalibrate the meter against a known conductivity standard before returning it to service.

Service life

Conductivity electrodes wear through fouling and abrasion of the graphite pins rather than through a fixed shelf life. Replace the electrode when the meter drifts between calibrations, will not accept a calibration standard, or gives unstable readings in pool water. In routine commercial pool use, an annual replacement interval is a reasonable planning assumption.

Ordering notes

Supplied as a single electrode only; the meter body, batteries and calibration solutions are not included. Order calibration standard separately so the new electrode can be verified immediately after fitting. Keep a spare on the shelf if the tester is used for daily pool water logging.
