This is the genuine Fluidra replacement low pressure switch for the Zodiac Z650iQ MD8 pool heat pump. Mounted on the low-pressure side of the refrigerant circuit, it continuously monitors suction-line pressure and cuts power to the compressor if pressure drops below a safe threshold — protecting the unit from serious damage caused by refrigerant loss or circuit blockages.

How it works

The switch uses a preset pressure threshold to open its electrical contacts when low-side refrigerant pressure falls to an unsafe level. This immediately stops the compressor, preventing evaporator freeze-up, liquid refrigerant slugging, and compressor burnout. The switch is the component responsible for triggering the E04 low-pressure fault code displayed on the Z650iQ when a refrigerant circuit issue is detected.
