The Elecro Evolution 2 9 kW electric pool heater is a compact, fully titanium-constructed heater designed to reliably maintain your swimming pool or spa at the perfect temperature. Manufactured by Elecro Engineering in Hertfordshire, England, the Evolution 2 is the upgraded successor to the original EVO range — and a direct drop-in replacement for any existing EVO installation. With 100% heating efficiency throughout its lifespan, it is one of the most dependable electric pool heaters on the market.
The 9 kW model is suitable for pools up to 60,000 litres (60 m³) and operates on both 230 V single-phase and 400 V three-phase power supplies, making it a versatile choice for both residential private pools and spa installations.
Titanium construction for long-lasting performance
The Evolution 2 features a Grade 1 titanium flow tube and titanium heating element — the highest-grade titanium available. This makes it fully resistant to corrosion from chlorinated and saltwater pools, including those using salt electrolysis (salt chlorinators). The unique Vortex heating element technology keeps the element clean by creating a swirling flow of water, preventing limescale and mineral deposits from building up and extending the heater’s service life significantly.
Simple installation and flexible mounting
The Evolution 2 arrives fully equipped and pre-wired, making installation straightforward. The unit is supplied with both a 1.5″ BSP (38 mm) and 50 mm stepped ABS union, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of plumbing setups — including flexible pipe systems and above-ground pools such as Intex or Bestway. Two swivel feet on the base allow the heater to be mounted either flat on the floor or vertically against a wall, depending on your technical room layout. The heater must be installed indoors or under cover, protected from the elements.
Precise temperature control
The thermostat is adjustable from 0 °C to 45 °C, giving you full control over your desired water temperature. The analogue control version features a 1.2 °C differential, while the digital version offers a more precise 0.5 °C differential with a selectable multilingual display. This makes it equally suitable for swimming pools and spas where exact temperature control matters.
Built-in safety features
The Elecro Evolution 2 incorporates several layers of protection to ensure safe, unattended operation. A rhodium-tipped reed flow switch with a titanium fulcrum pin monitors water flow at all times — if flow drops below the minimum threshold (4 m³/h for the 9 kW model), the heater shuts off automatically. A thermal cut-out at 60 °C (manual reset) provides secondary overtemperature protection. Combined, these safeguards protect both the heater and your pool equipment from damage.
