Davey CrystalClear ER Cartridge Filter (DCC225 / DCC270) exploded view & spare parts
This page provides the official exploded-view diagram and complete bill of materials for the Davey CrystalClear ER Series cartridge filters, covering both the DCC225EU and DCC270EU models. The CrystalClear ER Series is a backwash-free cartridge filter range designed to deliver easy, dependable filtration for swimming pools and spas. The housing features a one-piece moulded polypropylene body, an easy-read pressure gauge, and a manual air bleed. Both the DCC225EU and DCC270EU are twin-cartridge units rated to a maximum operating pressure of 250 kPa. Work through the numbered diagram below to identify your part in minutes, then use the matching SKU to order directly from stock.
How to use the numbered diagram to find your part
Every numbered call-out on the diagram corresponds directly to a row in the parts list table below it — locate the area of the filter that concerns you, note the position number printed on the diagram, then find that same number in the “Pos” column of the table to retrieve the correct SKU. Start by dividing the filter into broad areas: the lid and pressure-relief assembly at the top, the main housing in the middle, and the plumbing connections at the base — this narrows your search before you even look at a number. Bear in mind that the same position number can appear more than once in the diagram when a fastener or fitting is used in several locations; always read the full description in the parts list to confirm you have the right item. This diagram also contains positions where the same number covers two different variants depending on your model: position 4 (Top Housing) and position 10 (Cartridge Element) each carry separate SKUs for the DCC225EU and DCC270EU respectively, so never order by number alone without also confirming your model reference. Position 9 adds a further variant — a small cartridge element used only on the DCC270EU — so check the description column carefully alongside the position number. If you are unsure of your model, locate the rating label on the side of the tank body, which will carry either the DCC225EU or DCC270EU designation. When you have confirmed both the position number and the correct model variant, the SKU shown is all you need to add the genuine part to your basket.
Main replaceable assemblies on the CrystalClear ER Cartridge Filter (DCC225 / DCC270)
A quality pressure gauge makes it easy to see when element cleaning is required, and a manual air bleed enables the filter to be de-pressurised before opening for cleaning. The air bleed assembly at the top of the lid is made up of three parts: the Air Relief Valve complete with O-ring (pos. 1, SKU 33337), the Screen for the air relief tube (pos. 6, SKU 33377), and the Spring (pos. 5, SKU 33376) that seats behind the valve. The screen protects the air relief tube from debris, ensuring reliable automatic air venting and safe manual de-pressurisation of the filter tank. The Pressure Gauge (pos. 2, SKU 33365) is an oil-filled, bottom-mount unit rated to 400 kPa and is mounted on the lid alongside the air bleed. The lid itself seals to the barrel via the Lid O-ring (pos. 12, SKU 33381), and is secured with the pair of Locking Handles (pos. 3, SKU 33373); both are common service items disturbed every time the filter is opened for cartridge cleaning. The Top Housing (pos. 4) is model-specific — SKU 33374 for the DCC225EU and SKU 33375 for the DCC270EU — and also incorporates the Top Cartridge Adaptor (pos. 8, SKU 33379) that locates and seals the top of the cartridge stack. Filter cartridges are fabricated from heavy-duty, reusable polyester fabric with wide and deep pleats for better filter efficiency and easy cleaning. The DCC270EU carries a two-piece cartridge stack joined by the Element Joiner (pos. 11, SKU 33380), which is not present on the DCC225EU. At the base, the Barrel Union Assembly (pos. 13, SKU 33382) handles the plumbing connections, sealed by the Union O-rings (pos. 14, SKU 33369, supplied in a pack of two), while the Gulfstream Plugs (pos. 7, SKU 33378, pack of two) blank off any unused ports on the barrel.
Choosing between variants and pack sizes
Several positions in this diagram split into model-specific variants, and selecting the wrong one will result in a part that does not fit. Position 4 (Top Housing) and position 10 (Cartridge Element) each have a dedicated SKU per model: for the DCC225EU the single cartridge element is SKU 701040, while the DCC270EU uses a large element (SKU 701038) at position 10 together with a separate small element (pos. 9, SKU 701041) — both elements are required to make up the full DCC270EU cartridge stack. The Element Joiner at position 11 (SKU 33380) is listed as DCC270EU only and should not be ordered for a DCC225EU installation. For parts supplied in packs — Locking Handles (pos. 3, pack of 2), Gulfstream Plugs (pos. 7, pack of 2), and Union O-rings (pos. 14, pack of 2) — the pack is the minimum order unit, which is practical given that these items are typically replaced in pairs during a service. Always cross-reference your model designation (DCC225EU or DCC270EU, found on the tank label) against the description column before adding any variant part to your order, as the housings and cartridge elements are not interchangeable between the two sizes.
