Description

Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W

The Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W is a compact UV-C disinfection unit with duplex stainless steel housing, designed for chlorinated and saltwater pools up to around 40 m³. Thanks to the integrated hour counter and high frequency ballast, it provides efficient, stable UV-C disinfection while clearly indicating when the 40 W lamp needs to be replaced.

  • Suitable for chlorinated and saltwater (electrolysis) pools
  • Integrated timer shows remaining UV-C lamp operating hours
  • Duplex stainless steel housing for high UV-C output and corrosion resistance

Main features of the Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W

  • UV-C disinfection unit for residential swimming pools up to approximately 40 m³.
  • High quality duplex stainless steel housing that is highly resistant to corrosion.
  • Integrated electronic timer that accurately counts lamp operating hours.
  • High frequency electronic ballast for stable lamp power and extended lamp life.
  • Helps reduce required chlorine consumption and limits chloramine formation.
  • Compact design with wall mounting brackets for easy installation in the plant room.

Technical specifications

  • Brand: Blue Lagoon
  • Model: Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W
  • Lamp power: 40 W UV-C
  • Lamp type: low pressure UV-C lamp, useful life approximately 9,000 hours
  • Housing material: duplex stainless steel UV reactor
  • Maximum flow rate: approximately 23 m³/h
  • Recommended pool volume: up to about 40 m³ (depending on hydraulic design and desired disinfection level)
  • Housing diameter: around 70 mm
  • Hydraulic connections: 63 mm with adapters for 50 mm and 1½” female threads (included)
  • Electrical supply: 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz with integrated electronic ballast
  • Installation position: on the return line after the filter (and preferably before any heater or heat pump)

Duplex stainless steel housing and 4ALL concept

The Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W uses a duplex stainless steel housing that offers higher corrosion resistance than standard 316L.
This makes the unit suitable for both traditionally chlorinated pools and pools with salt electrolysis systems, which place higher demands on metal components.

The reflective inner surface of the duplex tube increases the effective UV-C dose by reflecting part of the radiation back into the water stream.
This improves the disinfection effect without increasing power consumption and supports clear, sparkling water with reduced need for chemical disinfectants.

Integrated timer and high frequency ballast

One of the key advantages of the Timer UV-C 4ALL series is the integrated hour counter in the control head.
The display shows the accumulated operating hours of the lamp, so you always know when it is time to replace it, instead of relying on guesswork or calendar estimates.

  • Integrated display for monitoring total lamp operating hours.
  • Clear indication when the lamp is approaching the end of its specified life.
  • High frequency electronic ballast protects the lamp against current fluctuations.
  • Stable UV-C output throughout the service life for consistent disinfection performance.

Applications and compatibility

The Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W is designed for domestic pools where owners want more stable water quality with less reliance on chlorine.
It can be combined with sand filters, cartridge filters and various dosing systems and is suitable for both new installations and retrofits.

  • In ground and above ground pools with a closed technical room and filtration system.
  • Chlorinated pools where UV-C assists chlorine and reduces chloramine formation.
  • Saltwater pools with electrolysis units, where the duplex housing offers extra corrosion resistance.
  • Systems using automatic pH and chlorine dosing, where UV-C helps stabilise demand.

Installation guidelines

  • Install the unit horizontally on the return line after the filter, in a dry, frost free technical space.
  • Use the supplied adapters to connect to 63 mm or 50 mm PVC pipe or 1½” threaded lines.
  • Ensure the flow direction matches the arrow on the housing and respect the specified maximum flow.
  • Mount the UV-C reactor using the supplied brackets so it is properly supported and free from pipe stress.
  • Connect the electrical cable to a protected, earthed power supply with residual current protection.

After installation, bleed any air from the system and verify that there are no leaks at the unions. Once the unit is filled with water and sealed,
switch on the power and start the filtration pump to place the Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W into operation.

Operation, maintenance and lamp replacement

During normal operation, the Timer UV-C 4ALL runs whenever the filtration pump is running.
The integration of the hour counter makes it easy to schedule preventive lamp replacement before the UV-C output has fallen too far,
while the high frequency ballast helps extend the effective life of the lamp.

  • Check the hour counter regularly and plan lamp replacement around the specified 9,000 operating hours.
  • Inspect unions and adapters at the start of each season and retighten if necessary.
  • Periodically clean or descale the quartz sleeve according to the manufacturer instructions to maintain UV-C transmission.
  • Always switch off the power and close valves before removing the lamp or opening the housing.

By combining correct installation, regular inspection and timely lamp replacement, the Blue Lagoon Timer UV-C 4ALL 40 W can provide
reliable additional disinfection, clearer water and reduced chemical consumption throughout the swimming season.
