Bio-Pool C-line V2 Electrolysis Cell – 7 Plates (BIOV2-CL-E7P)
Bio-Pool C-line V2 Electrolysis Cell – 7 Plates (BIOV2-CL-E7P)
The BIOV2-CL-E7P is the original 7-plate replacement electrolysis cell for the Bio-Pool® C-line V2 salt chlorinator system. Manufactured at the Bio-Pool factory in Toulouse, France, it is the correct OEM part for owners of the C-line V2 electrolyzer who need to restore their system to full working order after cell wear or failure.
How Electrolysis Cells Produce Chlorine
Electrolysis cells generate chlorine on demand inside the pool’s circulation circuit. A transformer in the electrolyzer converts mains voltage to low-voltage DC current, which is applied across titanium electrode plates submerged in the salt-rich pool water. This splits sodium chloride into sodium and chlorine ions; the chlorine immediately forms hypochlorous acid, the active disinfectant. After sanitising the water, the acid reverts to salt and the cycle continues indefinitely. No external chlorine products are needed during normal operation.
C-line V2 — Proven Platform
The C-line V2 was Bio-Pool’s main residential salt chlorination platform before the introduction of the V3 series. It features the same robust titanium plate construction and self-cleaning polarity reversal as the V3, but without the digital communication card. The V2 is a straightforward, reliable system that has been installed in thousands of pools across France and Europe. Original V2 replacement cells ensure exact dimensional and electrical compatibility with the V2 electrolyzer’s electrode connectors and housing.
7-Plate Output — Suited to Medium and Large Pools
Seven titanium plates at 100 × 85 mm provide a large total electrode area, enabling the cell to sustain high chlorine production rates. The 7-plate BIOV2-CL-E7P is the top-of-range cell in the C-line V2 lineup and is intended for pools at the upper end of the V2 electrolyzer’s rated capacity. Pools with high bathing loads, significant sun exposure or larger water volumes will benefit from the additional output margin this cell provides.
Self-Cleaning — Protection Against Scale
Hard water causes calcium carbonate to precipitate on the electrode plates, gradually reducing the active surface area and chlorine output. The C-line V2 self-cleaning function reverses the polarity of the current through the plates on a timed cycle, breaking off calcium deposits before they can solidify. This passive maintenance feature keeps plates in optimal condition between inspections and extends the useful service life of the cell considerably.
