AstralPool Clear Series check valve Ø 50
AstralPool Clear Series check valve Ø 50
The AstralPool Clear Series check valve Ø 50 is a transparent non return valve for 50 mm pool pipework. Its clear PVC body and lid give full visibility of the internal flap and water flow, so you can instantly see whether the valve is open or closed, which simplifies inspection and fault finding in compact plant rooms.
Full flap opening with minimal pressure loss
The Clear Series design uses a wide opening flap that only needs a small pressure difference to open. Once in the open position, the flap lifts almost completely out of the flow path, which keeps head loss very low as water passes through. This helps maintain pump performance and overall hydraulic efficiency in filtration, heating and treatment circuits without unnecessary pressure drop.
Transparent body for 360 degree visibility
The AstralPool Clear Series check valve Ø 50 is manufactured with a fully transparent PVC U body and clear lid. This makes it possible to check flow direction, valve movement and the presence of air or debris from any angle without dismantling the pipework. The valve also acts as a compact sight glass in the line and is especially useful on suction or return lines where visual confirmation of flow is important.
Easy maintenance with removable lid and unions
For quick access, the valve features a removable threaded lid that can be opened without tools. Interchangeable unions on both sides allow the valve to be removed from the installation when needed, while the internal flap and sealing components can be cleaned or replaced in a few simple steps.
- Tool free threaded locking ring for fast lid removal.
- Union connections on inlet and outlet for easy installation.
- Internal parts accessible for cleaning and replacement without modifying the rest of the system.
Durable PVC U construction for saltwater use
The AstralPool Clear Series check valve Ø 50 is made entirely from PVC U with high chemical and mechanical resistance for pool environments. A coated internal spring protects against corrosion, making the valve suitable for installations with salt chlorinators and for seawater applications. The maximum working pressure is 3.5 bar within a typical operating temperature range of 10 to 30 °C in swimming pool systems.
Installation options and typical applications
With 50 mm union connections, this check valve is ideal for medium sized pool pipework where backflow must be prevented. It allows water to flow only in the intended direction and blocks reverse flow when the pump stops, helping to protect equipment and maintain priming where needed.
- For use on Ø 50 mm PVC pool lines.
- Available in versions with or without spring depending on installation orientation.
- Spring version suitable for vertical or horizontal mounting; non spring version for vertical lines with upward flow.
Typical positions include between pump and filter, upstream of a heat pump or special treatment device, or on lines where preventing reverse flow and having visual confirmation of operation are both important.
