With a maximum flow capacity of 48.5 m³/h and a combined lamp power of 420 W across three low-pressure UV-C lamps, the VGE Pro Inox 420-168 is a professional-grade disinfection unit built for high-throughput commercial and public pool installations. The system operates at up to 6 bar on a 3″ male thread connection, making it suitable for large-circulation pipework without flow restriction. UV-C light is emitted at 254 nm — the optimal wavelength for deactivating bacteria, viruses, and algae, and for breaking down chloramines at source.

316L stainless steel reactor construction

The U-shaped irradiation chamber is fabricated from compact, high-quality 316L stainless steel, finished with a glass bead-blasted surface that gives the unit exceptional corrosion resistance and a premium appearance. A specialist welding process underpins the structural integrity of the reactor, extending the service life of the unit even in demanding water treatment environments.

Lamp access & servicing

The Inox 420-168 is equipped with VGE Pro’s Smart Pin Technology, which allows all three lamps to be replaced safely whilst the system remains filled with water under pressure — eliminating the need to drain or depressurise the circuit for routine maintenance. Each low-pressure lamp carries a rated service life of up to 16,000 hours, keeping annual maintenance intervals to a minimum. Transparent inspection windows are integrated into the chamber so the UV-C output can be visually monitored during operation.

Disinfection performance & chemical savings

Operating at 254 nm, the low-pressure lamps provide highly efficient germicidal output, delivering effective inactivation of pathogens while simultaneously photolysing mono-chloramines — a key benefit for indoor public pools where combined chlorine levels must be tightly controlled. The UV treatment reduces dependency on chemical dosing without introducing any by-products into the water, contributing to a healthier environment for swimmers and staff alike.
