This is the genuine Water-ID PL Urea Reagent No. 2 (2 ml, 50-test pack), the second of the two liquid reagents required to measure urea concentration in pool water using the PoolLab 1.0 or PoolLab 2.0 photometer. Together with Urea Reagent No. 1 (POL4Urea1), it enables precise, photometer-grade colorimetric urea analysis — an increasingly important test for commercial and public pools.

Why Urea Testing Matters

Urea is the primary nitrogen compound introduced into pool water by bathers through sweat and urine. When urea accumulates and reacts with chlorine, it forms trichloramine — a compound associated with eye and skin irritation, and respiratory discomfort for frequent swimmers. Sanitary standards in many countries set a maximum urea limit of 3.5 mg/L; regular monitoring allows operators to manage bather load and dilution water accordingly before levels become a hygiene or compliance concern.

Compatibilità

POL2Urea2 is fully compatible with both the Water-ID PoolLab 1.0 and PoolLab 2.0 photometers. It must always be used in combination with Urea Reagent No. 1 (POL4Urea1) — both reagents are required to complete a single urea measurement. Results can be logged and managed via the free LabCOM app and cloud software for reporting and dosage recommendations.

Come si usa

Fill the photometer cuvette with your pool water sample, add the specified volume of Urea Reagent No. 1 first, then add this Reagent No. 2, and insert the cuvette into the PoolLab photometer to obtain a direct mg/L readout. Each 2 ml bottle of Reagent No. 2 provides 50 individual tests. Store reagents according to the product safety data sheet and replace once the pack is exhausted to maintain measurement accuracy.
