Designed exclusively for the Blue Lagoon UV-C Ioniser rated for pools up to 75,000 litres, this genuine copper replacement set restores full dual-action disinfection performance — combining UV-C radiation with copper electrolysis — at a maximum dosing level of just 0.7 ppm copper. Replacing the copper electrode on schedule is the single most important maintenance step for keeping a chlorine-free or low-chlorine pool hygienic season after season. The set also includes test strips so copper levels can be monitored accurately throughout the swim season.

How copper ionisation works

The copper electrode continuously releases positively charged copper ions (Cu²⁺) into the water flowing through the ioniser body. These ions bond to the negatively charged cell walls of bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms, disrupting nutrient absorption until the organism dies. Because copper ions remain active in the water until they bond with a cell wall, the disinfecting effect persists even when the filter installation is temporarily switched off — providing a residual protection that UV-C radiation alone cannot offer.
