The impeller spins on the motor shaft to draw water through the strainer pot and accelerate it outward by centrifugal force. Slide the old diffuser off, fit the new diffuser, then thread the new impeller on firmly. Reassemble in reverse order, re-prime, and check for leaks before returning to service. The job takes approximately 20–30 minutes with standard tools.
