The HI3214P is a refillable platinum ORP (redox) electrode used to measure the oxidation-reduction potential of pool and process water. It combines a platinum sensing pin with a cloth junction and a double junction reference system, and terminates in a standard BNC connector on a 2 m cable. It belongs to Hanna Instruments’ range of laboratory and panel-connected ORP electrodes used alongside ORP meters and controllers in commercial pool water treatment.

Avec quoi ça va ?

The BNC connector makes the HI3214P compatible with virtually any Hanna Instruments bench, portable or panel-mounted meter or controller with a BNC ORP input. The 2 m cable gives enough reach to mount the meter away from the sample point or measuring vessel. Confirm that your instrument reads mV (ORP) input before ordering, as pH-only instruments will not display a usable value.

Installation et mise en place

The electrode is designed for immersion in the sample, either in a beaker, a flow cell or a measuring vessel, and is rated to 3 bar so it can also be used in pressurised lines with a suitable fitting. Mount it vertically or tilted no more than about 20 degrees from vertical so the internal electrolyte stays over the junction. Keep the filling hole open while measuring and closed during storage and transport.

Durée de vie

Platinum ORP electrodes lose response speed as the sensing pin becomes coated and the reference junction fouls; in pool and process water this is typically noticeable after roughly one to two years of regular use. Because the body is refillable, service life is extended by topping up the reference electrolyte and cleaning the platinum pin. Replace the electrode when readings drift, stabilise slowly or no longer respond to a fresh ORP test solution after cleaning.

Remarques concernant la commande

The HI3214P is supplied as a single electrode; refill electrolyte, ORP test solution, cleaning solution and storage solution are ordered separately. The double junction reference makes it the preferred choice where the sample contains silver-precipitating or contaminating species. Flow cells, mounting fittings and extension cables are not included.
