Genuine Sta-Rite / Pentair seal plate assembly for the SW5P4R, SW5P6R pool-pump range. The seal plate is the machined bulkhead that separates the wet volute from the motor shaft — a leak here is the single most common cause of catastrophic motor failure, so this is the wear part you want to service on schedule instead of running to failure.

This is a complete service kit: the seal plate itself, the mechanical shaft seal and the volute gasket ship in one order, so you can do a full seal refresh in a single visit to the pump room. Mounts to the motor with the standard 5″ square flange and clamp ring; 5-3/16″ impeller space diameter. Fits every motor from 0.5 HP up to 3.0 HP in the family.

Installation notes: inspect the impeller and shaft while the pump is opened — replacing the seal plate is the ideal moment to catch scoring on the impeller or wear on the shaft key. Coat the new mechanical seal’s rubber boot with a thin film of silicone grease before installation, and never touch the polished seal faces with bare fingers.
