The Pahlén 1/2″ flow switch is a safety sensor designed to protect pool heaters, heat exchangers and other in-line equipment by monitoring water circulation. If water flow is missing or drops below the operating threshold, the switch can send a signal to stop the connected device, helping prevent overheating and equipment damage.

Flow protection for heaters and pool equipment
This flow switch detects movement of water in the pipe and acts as an interlock for critical devices such as electric heaters, heat pumps (when used in control circuits) and heat exchangers. When there is insufficient circulation, the switch can open/close the control contact to shut down the device safely. This makes it a practical safeguard in installations where dry-running or low-flow conditions could cause overheating.
