How Salt Electrolysis Keeps Your Pool Clean

Salt electrolysis cells produce chlorine on demand by passing a low-voltage current through titanium plates submerged in salt water. The sodium chloride in the water splits into hypochlorous acid — an effective disinfectant that destroys bacteria and algae — before converting back to salt and cycling through the process again. The system runs continuously, requires no manual chlorine dosing and is significantly kinder to skin and eyes than traditional chlorination methods.

V3 Generation and the Communication Card

The Bio-Pool C-line V3 series is distinguished by its built-in digital communication card. This card connects the cell to the V3 electrolyzer’s control board, enabling automatic cell recognition, production monitoring and fault diagnostics. The electrolyzer can read operating hours from the cell, adjust output automatically and alert the user when servicing is due — a significant improvement over the analogue design of the earlier V2 series.

4-Plate Configuration — Right-Sized for Smaller Pools

The 4-plate cell at 100 × 85 mm per plate is designed for smaller residential pools where a 7-plate unit would be oversized. Running an oversized cell at reduced duty cycles wastes electricity and shortens plate life. The 4-plate BIOV3-CL-E4P delivers the right chlorine output for its intended pool volume while operating efficiently at near-full duty.

Self-Cleaning — Less Maintenance, Longer Life

Scale deposits on electrode plates reduce chlorine output and can permanently damage the cell if left unaddressed. The C-line V3 self-cleaning system reverses current polarity at programmed intervals, dislodging calcium carbonate build-up before it can harden. Under normal salt-level conditions this eliminates the need for periodic manual acid-washing and significantly extends the service life of the plates.
