This is the genuine Davey replacement flow switch for the EcoMatic COMM500 and COMM1000 commercial salt water chlorinators. The flow switch detects whether water is actively circulating through the system and signals the controller to halt chlorine production when flow stops — a critical safety and protection function. It is typically replaced when the unit fails to detect flow correctly, causing nuisance shutdowns or, conversely, running the cell dry.

This flow switch is specifically designed for the Davey EcoMatic COMM500 and COMM1000 — heavy-duty commercial salt water chlorination systems used in public pools, swim schools, and resort facilities. It is not interchangeable with domestic EcoSalt or other Davey chlorinator ranges. Always verify your model number before ordering.

The EcoMatic COMM series relies on precise electronic monitoring of flow, pressure, gas level, and temperature to trigger protective shutdowns and safeguard the electrolytic cell. A genuine Davey flow switch ensures the correct switching threshold and electrical compatibility with the COMM controller board — third-party substitutes risk false readings or inadequate cell protection.

Replacement of the flow switch involves working within the chlorinator’s plumbing and electrical circuit. Installation should be carried out by a qualified pool technician or electrician familiar with commercial chlorination equipment. Always isolate power before servicing the unit and follow Davey’s official installation and operating instructions for the COMM500/COMM1000.
