The Davey M5086 is the genuine replacement cell head for the ProMatic ESCpH salt water chlorinator — the combined ESC chlorinator and pH control unit within the ProMatic MPS/ESR/ESC series. The cell head forms the end-cap assembly of the electrolytic cell body, housing the electrical connections and directing pool water flow through the cell. It is typically replaced when the original head is cracked, leaking, or when electrical contact is lost between the power supply and the cell plates.

This cell head is designed specifically for the Davey ProMatic ESCpH models — the variant of the ProMatic ESC series that integrates an on-board pH dosing controller. It is not a universal cell head and should only be fitted to the ESCpH model within the ProMatic MPS/ESR/ESC range. If you are unsure whether your unit is the ESCpH variant, check the label on your chlorinator control box or consult your original installation documentation before ordering.

Using a genuine Davey replacement ensures correct electrical connection geometry, material compatibility with salt water, and a precise fit that maintains a watertight seal throughout the cell assembly. Third-party or mismatched heads can cause poor contact, leaks, or premature cell failure. Please note this part is listed as available while stocks last, indicating it is a limited-availability spare — order promptly to avoid delays.

Installation involves disconnecting the power supply leads from the existing cell head, removing the old head from the cell body, and fitting the new head with the appropriate seal (sold separately — see M5101). Water flow direction through the cell must be observed as indicated by the arrow on the cell housing. Electrical connections to the power supply must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.
