The genuine Water-ID cleaning brush (SPclb1) is a purpose-made accessory for keeping the triple-chamber measurement cuvette of the PoolLab 2.0 photometer free from reagent residues and deposits. Sold individually, it is the same brush supplied with Water-ID testing kits and is designed to reach inside the narrow cuvette chambers without scratching the optical surfaces.

Why Cuvette Cleaning Matters

Residue from DPD, Phenol Red, and other photometer-grade reagents can accumulate inside the cuvette chambers after each test. The official PoolLab 2.0 manual explicitly states that the device must be cleaned after every measurement to remove all reagent residues, and that the cuvette must be clean before each new measurement to avoid carry-over errors. Even small amounts of contamination can scatter or absorb the LED beam, introducing drift into chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and other readings — ultimately leading to incorrect water chemistry decisions.

Compatibilidade

This cleaning brush is compatible with the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 photometer only. It is not designed for the older PoolLab 1.0, whose cuvette has a different form factor. Always use the brush with plain water or distilled water — the PoolLab 2.0 user manual advises against the use of any cleaning agents or detergents on the cuvette.

When to Use It

Use the brush after every testing session to scrub all three chambers of the cuvette under clean water, followed by a rinse with distilled water where possible. Replace the brush when the bristles show signs of discolouration, flattening, or reagent staining that cannot be rinsed away. Keeping a spare brush on hand ensures uninterrupted, reliable testing throughout the pool season.
