PoolFresh by Davey (PFD8 / PFD20) exploded view & spare parts
This page covers the complete exploded-view diagram and official parts list for the PoolFresh by Davey salt water chlorinator, spanning both factory references PFD8CE (8 g/hr output) and PFD20CE (20 g/hr output). The PoolFresh is Davey’s compact salt water chlorinator, suited to inground and above-ground residential pools, plunge pools, and swim spas. Both models share the same control-box housing and most internal components, making this single diagram valid for either variant. Use the numbered call-outs alongside the parts list below and you should be able to identify the exact part you need in a matter of minutes.
Como utilizar o esquema numerado para encontrar a sua peça
Every numbered call-out printed on the diagram corresponds directly to a row in the parts list table on this page — locate the area of the unit that concerns you, note the position number, then read across to find the description and SKU. Once you have the SKU, add it straight to your basket. Bear in mind that some position numbers appear more than once in the list: position 6 is used for both the 108 VA transformer (PFD8CE) and the 180 VA transformer (PFD20CE), and position 8 covers both the 8 g and 20 g cell cables, and position 9 covers both replacement cells. In each of those cases the diagram call-out points to a single location on the unit, but the correct part depends on which model you own — always confirm your model reference (printed on the unit’s label) before ordering. Similarly, position 11 specifies a 50 mm EU barrel union, so verify your pipework diameter before ordering plumbing fittings. If you are unsure whether a part fits your exact serial number, our team is happy to advise before you place an order.
Main replaceable assemblies on the PoolFresh by Davey
The PoolFresh control box houses the electronics, transformer, and user controls, all of which are individually serviceable. The front flap (position 1) is the grey hinged access cover that protects the controls from the elements; it is one of the more commonly replaced cosmetic parts after physical impact or UV degradation. Behind it, the PCB LED board (position 3) provides the status display, while the PCB power board (position 7) is the main control board governing chlorine output — both boards can be swapped independently. The ON/OFF switch (position 4) and circuit breaker 3A (position 5) are the primary user-facing electrical components; the breaker in particular is a routine service item if the unit has tripped repeatedly. The transformer (position 6) steps mains voltage down for the electrolytic cell and is rated differently for each model — 108 VA for the PFD8CE and 180 VA for the PFD20CE — so it is model-specific. The cell cable (position 8) connects the power board to the electrolytic cell and is likewise available in 8 g and 20 g versions. The replacement cell (position 9) is the electrolytic heart of the unit; insufficient salt will damage the cell, making it the most frequently replaced consumable part in the system. Inline plumbing is completed by the flow switch (position 10), which halts electrolysis if no flow is present, and the 50 mm EU barrel union (position 11), which secures the cell body to the pipework for tool-free removal. The blanking cap kit (position 12) allows the cell housing to be temporarily capped when the cell is removed for cleaning or replacement.
Choosing between variants and pack sizes
For any position number that lists two variants — positions 6, 8, and 9 — your choice is determined entirely by your model: order the 8 g variant (SKUs 16286, 16287, DILC8REP) if your unit carries the factory reference PFD8CE, e o 20 g variant (SKUs 16284, 16288, DESILC20REP) if it is a PFD20CE. Fitting the wrong-rated transformer or cell cable can affect chlorine output and may stress the electronics, so this distinction matters. The barrel union (position 11) is specified as 50 mm EU, which refers to the nominal outside diameter of the pipe; confirm your pipework diameter before ordering, as forcing a mismatched union can crack both the union body and the cell housing. The blanking cap kit (position 12) is sold as a kit containing everything needed to seal the cell port, so no additional fasteners are required when ordering that item separately.
