Supplied at two chlorine reference concentrations (0.2 mg/l and 1.0 mg/l), this Lovibond Reference Standard Kit is engineered specifically to verify the photometric detection accuracy of the PM 600, PM 620, and PM 630 series photometers — an essential quality-assurance tool for professional pool water management. The kit provides a traceable, repeatable check against known chlorine values, giving pool operators and service engineers confidence that their instrument is performing within specification.

It is important to note that reference standard kits are designed to check measurement accuracy and reproducibility — they do not adjust or recalibrate the photometer itself. The correct method is selected on the PM630, the measured result in mg/l is compared against the known reference value, and any significant deviation flags the instrument for service. This disciplined verification workflow is critical in commercial or public pool environments where dosing decisions depend on reliable readings.

The reference standards carry a two-year shelf life from the date of production, provided they are stored and used in accordance with Lovibond’s supplied instructions. Keeping standards within their validity window is essential: expired standards can give misleading verification results, so noting the production date upon receipt and scheduling timely replacement is good laboratory practice.

This kit is the correct Lovibond-sourced accessory for the PM 600, PM 620, and PM 630 photometer family — making it the natural companion purchase for any facility already operating one of these instruments. It is suited to public pool operators, independent service engineers, water treatment contractors, and installers who carry out periodic instrument health-checks as part of a site maintenance schedule.
