This is the genuine Davey replacement Barrel Union Assembly for the Crystal Clear ER Series cartridge filters, specifically the DCC135EU (135 sq ft) and DCC180EU (180 sq ft) models. A barrel union is the pipe coupling that connects your pool’s plumbing to the filter’s multiport valve inlet and outlet ports, enabling a leak-free, removable, and serviceable pipe joint. It is typically replaced when the union body cracks, threads strip, or the joint begins to leak despite re-sealing attempts.

This assembly is designed for Davey Crystal Clear ER Series cartridge filters — models DCC135EU and DCC180EU. The Crystal Clear ER Series uses a 40mm valve connection, and this barrel union is engineered specifically to Davey’s own 40mm BSP standard (suit 40mm pool pipe, 48.2mm OD), making it a unique Davey fitting that is not interchangeable with generic pool plumbing unions. Always verify your filter model before ordering.

Davey designs these barrel unions to be self-aligning, ensuring a precise, stress-free connection between your pipework and the filter valve. Using a non-genuine or incompatible union risks leaks, undue stress on the valve body, and potential warranty implications. A genuine Davey part guarantees the correct fit, the correct pressure rating, and long-term reliability in pool and spa environments.

Installation should be carried out by a person with knowledge of swimming pool plumbing requirements, following Davey’s installation instructions for the Crystal Clear ER Series. Ensure all pipe glue is fully cured before returning the system to operation, and check that all connections are secure and leak-free before start-up.
