The HI12883 is a combination pH and EC electrode with a Quick DIN connector, designed as the measuring probe for the Hanna Instruments HI991300 and HI991301 portable meters. It handles pH, conductivity and temperature readings in a single body, so one probe covers the routine water checks on a pool or technical room water line. It is supplied as a replacement probe for meters already in service.

This electrode is made for the Hanna Instruments HI991300 and HI991301 portable pH/EC/TDS/temperature meters. The Quick DIN connector is keyed to those instruments, so no adapter or rewiring is needed. It is not a universal BNC probe and will not connect to meters that use a standard BNC or screw-type input.

Fitting the probe

Line up the Quick DIN plug with the socket on the meter, push it home and turn the collar until it locks. Rinse the sensor with clean water before and after each measurement and keep the glass tip wet at all times. After fitting a new electrode, recalibrate the meter with fresh pH and EC standards before taking readings.

pH glass electrodes are consumables and age even when stored correctly, typically giving 12 to 24 months of use depending on water chemistry and measurement frequency. Replace the probe when calibration drifts, response becomes slow, or the meter rejects a calibration point. Storing the tip in proper storage solution rather than distilled water clearly extends usable life.
