This is a genuine Flotide/MEGA replacement lateral arm (126 mm) for the underdrain assembly of Flotide/MEGA S-series and SMG-series sand filters. Laterals are the slotted finger elements that radiate from the central standpipe at the base of the filter tank, allowing filtered water to pass through while retaining the filter sand or glass media. Replacing worn or cracked laterals restores full filtration performance and prevents sand from passing into the pool.

Compatibility

This 126 mm lateral is designed to fit Flotide/MEGA sand filter models S450, S500, S650, S700, and the SMG series (including SMG500 and SMG650). Always verify the lateral length required for your specific filter model before ordering — Flotide/MEGA also offers a 115 mm variant (SKU 7009308) for the same filter range. Fitting the correct length is essential for the underdrain to seat and seal properly inside the tank.

Reassemble in reverse order, ensuring the standpipe O-ring is correctly seated before closing the tank.
