These genuine Water-ID powder pillow reagents are designed to measure high-range (HR) total chlorine in pool and spa water using the potassium iodide (KI) method. Each pack contains 50 individually sealed pillows, delivering photometer-grade accuracy across a measurement range of 5–200 mg/l (ppm) — far beyond the ~6 ppm ceiling of standard DPD chlorine tests. They are an essential consumable for any PoolLab 2.0 user who needs to monitor elevated chlorine levels, such as during shock dosing or superchlorination.

Why High-Range Chlorine Testing Matters

After a shock treatment or superchlorination, free chlorine levels can spike well above the range that standard DPD reagents can measure. Without a high-range test, it is impossible to know when levels have safely returned to the recommended swimming range, risking swimmer discomfort or equipment damage from over-chlorination. Compatibility & How to Use

These powder pillows are compatible exclusively with the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 photometer. Note that the Chlorine HR test is a two-part process: both the Chlorine HR (KI) powder pillow (PPPClHR50) and a separate Acidifying GP powder pillow (sold separately, SKU PPHAFG50) are required to complete each measurement. Simply add one pillow of each type to your sample cuvette, allow to dissolve, and run the Chlorine HR program on your PoolLab 2.0 to obtain your reading.
