The BL123-70 is a calibration and maintenance solution kit for the pH and ORP electrodes used in Hanna Instruments pool and spa controllers and analysers. It bundles the buffer and cleaning solutions needed to verify probe readings and keep the sensing element free of scale and organic film. The kit is a consumable accessory within the Hanna pool water treatment range.

What it fits

The kit is intended for the pH and ORP electrodes fitted to Hanna Instruments pool and spa instruments, including BL120 and BL123 series controllers and comparable panel-mounted analysers. The solutions are electrode-specific rather than instrument-specific, so they can be used with any standard glass pH or platinum ORP probe in the same water treatment loop. Always check the calibration values requested by your controller before use.

Rinse the electrode with clean water, shake off the excess and immerse the tip in the calibration solution as prompted by the controller’s calibration routine. Use the cleaning solution separately to remove scale, oil or biofilm from the glass bulb and reference junction, then rinse again before recalibrating. Never return used solution to the bottle, as contamination will shift the reading.

Service life

Sealed bottles have a limited shelf life and should be replaced by the printed expiry date; once opened, solutions degrade through CO2 absorption and evaporation. In commercial pool service, calibration is typically carried out weekly to monthly depending on load and water chemistry. Replace the kit whenever calibration values drift or the solution appears cloudy or discoloured.

Storage solution for long-term probe preservation may also be required and is not always included in the same pack.
