Rated to 10 bar (PN10) at 20 °C and supplied in a ready-to-use 5-metre length, this 40 mm OD × 1.9 mm wall PVC-U pipe is sized for the suction and return lines most commonly found in residential and light-commercial pool plant rooms. One end is formed into an integral glue socket, the other is left plain, so each length connects directly to the next or to any standard 40 mm solvent-weld fitting without needing a separate coupler.

Standard & material credentials

Manufactured from rigid, unplasticised PVC (PVC-U) and classified to ISO 1452 PN10, this pipe meets the internationally recognised standard for plastic pressure piping systems used in water supply and pressurised drainage applications. PVC-U is chemically resistant to chlorinated pool water, does not corrode, and its smooth bore keeps flow resistance low — all important advantages in a pool circulation circuit that runs continuously.

Solvent-weld jointing

The glue-socket × plain configuration makes assembly straightforward: apply solvent cement to the plain pipe end and the inside of the receiving socket, push fully home and give a slight quarter-turn to distribute the cement evenly, then hold for about 30 seconds. Full cure is reached after 24 hours at room temperature, after which the joint is permanent and leak-free. Dry-fitting and marking the layout before cementing is strongly recommended to avoid misalignment once the cement is applied.
