Genuine AstralPool spare diffuser set for the Aster Ø600 mm sand filter in the side-mount valve configuration. It comprises the central column and the lateral cross assembly that sit in the base of the filter tank, spreading backwash water evenly across the sand bed and collecting filtered water during normal operation. Supplied as an OEM Fluidra part under reference 4404010119.

What It Fits

Designed exclusively for the AstralPool Aster sand filter with a Ø600 mm tank and a side-mount multiport valve. It is not interchangeable with top-mount Aster models or with other tank diameters, as the column height and lateral spread differ. Always confirm the tank diameter stamped on the filter label or shell before ordering.

Installation & Service

Replacement requires the filter to be drained and the sand media removed, so plan the job alongside a full media change. Fit the central column first, then clip or screw the laterals onto the cross before refilling with clean filter sand of the correct grade. Keep the column covered while pouring sand to stop grains entering the collector.

When To Replace

Sand appearing in the pool, in the pump strainer or at the returns is the classic sign of a cracked or split lateral. Reduced flow, uneven backwash or channelling in the bed can point to clogged slots. Plastic laterals also become brittle with age and chemical exposure, so inspect them every time the sand is changed.
