This is the OEM diffuser for the Kripsol Koral (KS/KSE) and Epsilon (EP) pool filtration pump families. Sitting directly behind the impeller in the pump’s hydraulic chamber, the diffuser converts the kinetic energy produced by the spinning impeller into static pressure, enabling the pump to deliver its rated flow rate to the filter circuit. Without an intact diffuser, hydraulic efficiency collapses and flow rate drops immediately.

The diffuser is a precision-moulded volute chamber positioned immediately downstream of the impeller. As water leaves the impeller at high velocity, the diffuser’s expanding geometry decelerates the flow, recovering pressure before it exits through the pump’s discharge port. Any crack, warp, or erosion of the diffuser’s vanes disrupts this conversion, causing head loss, noise, and — if ignored — cavitation damage to both the impeller and mechanical seal.

This diffuser is confirmed for the Kripsol Koral KS and KSE pump series across the standard residential power range, and for the Epsilon (EP) pump series. The Koral KS/KSE range covers models KS/KSE 33, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 300. Verify your specific pump model and power rating against this part number before ordering — different power variants can use differently sized diffusers within the same family.

You’ll notice reduced flow at the returns even though the impeller spins freely and the pre-filter basket is clean. A cracked or eroded diffuser also produces a distinctive low-pitched rumble or intermittent cavitation noise at the pump head. Visible hairline cracks on the vane walls or a warped seating face are confirmation: replace the diffuser before the damage progresses to the mechanical seal or impeller.

Isolate the pump from power and close the suction and return valves. Remove the pump-head bolts to separate the hydraulic body from the motor bracket, then withdraw the old diffuser straight off the impeller shaft. Drop the new diffuser into position, ensuring the locating lugs seat flush against the pump body, then reassemble in reverse. The full procedure takes approximately 20–30 minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and a spanner; no special tools are required.

The diffuser’s internal vane geometry is calibrated to match the impeller’s blade angle at each power rating. An off-spec aftermarket diffuser introduces clearance gaps that immediately reduce hydraulic efficiency, and thermoplastic blends that are not resistance-matched to the pump’s operating temperatures can warp within a single season. The genuine Kripsol part maintains the designed hydraulic coupling between impeller and diffuser for the full service life of the pump.
