This is the genuine Davey replacement RJ45 communication cable (part number 16142SP) that links the ProMatic Lifeguard controller to the EcoSalt2 salt chlorinator. Without this cable, the Lifeguard controller cannot send commands to or receive data from the EcoSalt2, making it an essential component of the complete ProMatic Lifeguard pool chemistry system. It is typically replaced when the original cable is lost, damaged, or fails to maintain a reliable connection between the two units.

This cable is designed specifically for use with the Davey ProMatic Lifeguard controller (model DPLGEU and related European variants) paired with the Davey EcoSalt2 salt chlorinator. One end plugs into the rear of the Lifeguard controller and the other into the rear of the EcoSalt2 power supply unit. It is not intended for use with other chlorinator brands or non-Davey controllers.

The Davey Lifeguard and EcoSalt2 must maintain a firm, uninterrupted communication link for the system to programme, regulate chlorine output, and respond to ORP and pH readings correctly. A genuine Davey RJ45 cable ensures the correct pinout, connector retention, and cable specification are maintained, preventing intermittent faults or communication errors that an aftermarket substitute may introduce.

Installation is straightforward: plug one end of the RJ45 cable firmly into the dedicated port on the back of the Davey Lifeguard controller, and the other end into the corresponding port on the back of the EcoSalt2 unit. Both devices must remain powered and the cable firmly seated throughout the initial programming sequence. Always ensure the connection is secure before powering up the system for the first time or after any reset.
