Water-ID – DPD Glycine Liquid Reagent for Bromine Testing (250 Tests)

This 30 ml bottle of photometer-grade Glycine liquid reagent is an essential add-on for the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 when testing bromine levels in pool or spa water that also contains chlorine. Glycine neutralises any chlorine present in the sample, preventing interference and ensuring that the PoolLab 2.0 returns an accurate bromine reading. One 30 ml bottle delivers approximately 250 tests.

Why Glycine is Needed

When both bromine and chlorine are present in the same water sample, DPD reagents will react with both disinfectants, skewing the bromine result. Adding Glycine before measurement masks the chlorine, so the photometer measures only the bromine concentration — giving pool and spa operators a true picture of their sanitiser level in the 0.00–9.00 ppm (mg/l) range. Without accurate bromine readings, under- or over-dosing can compromise swimmer safety or damage pool equipment.

Kompatibilitás

This reagent is designed exclusively for the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 photometer and is used in the liquid measurement mode alongside DPD 1A and DPD 1B liquid reagents. It is not included in the PoolLab 2.0 basic kit and must be purchased separately. It is not compatible with the PoolLab 1.0 or any non-Water-ID photometers.
