This is the replacement conductivity (EC) electrode for the Hanna Instruments HI98194, HI98195 and HI98196 multiparameter portable meters. It measures electrical conductivity and TDS in pool and process water and connects to the meter through a quick-connect probe port. The -3 suffix indicates the 3 metre cable version, giving enough reach for balance tanks, buffer vessels and deeper sample points.

What it fits

The HI7698194-3 is designed for the Hanna Instruments HI98194, HI98195 and HI98196 multiparameter meters that use interchangeable digital probes. It replaces the EC/TDS channel only; pH, ORP and DO measurements need their own dedicated electrodes. Always check the probe port marking on your meter before ordering, as the modular system allows several probe types on the same instrument.

Fitting the probe

Switch the meter off, align the connector keyway and push the probe into the quick-connect port until it seats, then tighten the locking collar by hand. The meter recognises the probe automatically once powered up. Recalibrate with a fresh conductivity standard after fitting so the new sensor constant is stored correctly.

Service life

Conductivity electrodes drift as the sensing rings become fouled or scaled, especially in hard or heavily dosed pool water. Rinse with clean water after every use and clean periodically with a mild acid or the recommended Hanna cleaning solution. Replace the probe when calibration repeatedly fails, readings become unstable, or the cable or connector shows damage or moisture ingress.

This item is supplied as a single electrode with 3 metre cable; it is not a kit and does not include calibration standards, storage solution or a meter. Other cable lengths exist within the same probe family, so confirm the exact suffix if you need a longer or shorter lead. Keep a spare on site to avoid downtime during routine water quality checks.
