This is the genuine Flotide/MEGA replacement pressure gauge for the Premium Pool Filter SMG series, rated 0–60 PSI with a rear (back-mount) connection. It mounts directly to the filter valve or filter body from the rear, keeping the dial face forward for easy reading. Monitoring filter pressure is essential for maintaining clean, efficient pool water circulation.

Why You Need It

As a pool filter traps dirt and debris, pressure inside the vessel rises and flow rate drops. Reading your gauge at start-up establishes a clean baseline, and a significant rise above that baseline tells you it is time to backwash or service the filter — preventing pump strain and poor water quality. The 0–60 PSI range covers the full operating envelope of the Flotide/MEGA SMG side-mount sand filter, which has a maximum working pressure of 2.5 bar (approx. 36 PSI).

The rear-connection fitting threads directly into the standard 1/4″ gauge port on the SMG multiport valve or filter body. Turn off the pump and relieve system pressure before removing the old gauge. Wrap the threaded fitting with PTFE (Teflon) thread-seal tape, hand-thread the new gauge into the port, then tighten carefully with a wrench — do not overtighten. Record the baseline pressure reading on your first clean-filter start-up for future reference.
