This is the genuine OEM ambient temperature probe pipe for the AquaForte Full Inverter Heat Pump 9.5 kW (model SC982). It houses and protects the ambient air temperature sensor, which the heat pump’s inverter control board uses to continuously monitor outdoor air conditions. Without an accurate ambient temperature reading, the unit cannot optimally regulate compressor speed, defrost cycles, or overall heating efficiency.

Pool heat pumps extract warmth from the surrounding air and transfer it to pool water. The ambient temperature probe pipe positions the sensor correctly within the unit’s airflow path, feeding real-time air temperature data to the controller. This allows the SC982’s full inverter system to dynamically adjust output power — heating faster in warm conditions and managing defrost cycles efficiently in cooler weather — ensuring reliable, energy-efficient operation across the season.

This part is designed exclusively for the AquaForte Full Inverter Heat Pump 9.5 kW (SC982). It corresponds to position 49 in the official Fluidra exploded-view diagram for that model. Always verify your heat pump’s model number before ordering to ensure a correct fit; this pipe is not interchangeable with other models in the SC980–SC985 range.

Using a genuine AquaForte replacement part guarantees the sensor pipe meets the exact dimensional and material tolerances required for accurate readings and a secure fit. An incorrectly fitted or poorly toleranced probe pipe can cause false temperature readings, leading to inefficient operation, nuisance fault codes, or unnecessary wear on the compressor. Replacing with the original part restores the unit to factory specification.
