This is the genuine Pentair hardware pack containing stainless-steel hex nuts and matching flat washers used to secure the pump housing on WhisperFlo and 5MPR series pool pumps. Sold as a pack of six, it gives you enough fasteners to carry out a full housing reassembly or to replace corroded or missing hardware in one go.

The nuts and washers clamp the pump housing (volute) sections together and anchor the power-end assembly to the wet end. Correct torque on these fasteners maintains the watertight seal between housing faces; loose or corroded hardware is a direct cause of housing leaks and vibration under load. Replacing the full set rather than individual fasteners guarantees even clamping force across all fixing points.

This hardware set is confirmed for the Pentair WhisperFlo and 5MPR pump families. The WhisperFlo parts diagram lists stainless-steel hex nuts (3/8-16) and flat washers (3/8 × 13/16 OD) as standard housing fasteners across the range. If you are unsure of your exact variant, cross-reference R071403 against your pump’s parts diagram before ordering.

Inspect these fasteners whenever you open the pump housing. Replace the set immediately if you see white oxidation or pitting on the nut faces, if any nut spins freely without developing torque, or if you find a washer that has distorted or cracked under repeated tightening cycles. A weeping joint at the housing seam after a re-seal job almost always points to faulty fastener hardware rather than a failed O-ring.

Drain and isolate the pump before removal. Undo the existing nuts and withdraw the old washers, then clean the seating faces on the housing. Seat each new washer flat against the housing boss before threading the nut by hand, and run all nuts up evenly in a cross pattern before applying final torque with a 9/16 in. spanner. No specialist tooling is required beyond basic hand tools.
