This is the genuine Davey complete motor assembly (part no. 403161) for the StarFlo DSF420CE single-phase swimming pool pump. It provides the full 2.2hp / 1650W drive unit needed to restore your pump to full circulation performance after motor failure or severe overheating damage. Replacing the motor as a complete assembly ensures all internal components are factory-matched and correctly rated for the DSF420CE.

This motor assembly is designed exclusively for the Davey StarFlo DSF420CE single-phase pool pump — the top-output single-phase model in the StarFlo CE range, rated at 2.2hp / 1650W and designed for 220–240V / 50Hz power supplies used across Europe. It is not interchangeable with the motors of other StarFlo models (DSF150CE, DSF200CE, DSF250CE, or DSF300CE), each of which uses a different motor assembly. CE-suffix variants are exclusively distributed in Europe.

Motor replacement is typically required when the pump shows signs of a burnt-out motor (burning smell, failure to start, or no output), or after sustained dry-running damage that has overwhelmed the pump’s built-in self-resetting thermal overload protection. Fitting a complete genuine motor assembly — rather than individual subcomponents — is the most reliable route to restoring full pump performance and avoiding callbacks. Motor removal, replacement, and reinstallation should be carried out by a qualified technician or authorised Davey service agent.

The StarFlo DSF420CE motor is engineered to drive a corrosion-resistant Noryl impeller and a silicon carbide / Viton mechanical seal on a 316 stainless-steel shaft. A genuine Davey replacement guarantees correct power rating, shaft dimensions, and thermal overload characteristics — protecting the wider pump assembly and preserving any remaining warranty coverage on associated components.
