This is the genuine Davey replacement o-ring for the cell union on the SC Max (ESC Max) and SC Max Plus salt water chlorinator systems. It creates the watertight seal between the electrolytic cell and its union fitting, preventing leaks at the critical cell-to-plumbing junction. This small but essential part should be inspected and replaced whenever the cell is removed for cleaning or at the first sign of moisture around the cell union.

This o-ring is designed specifically for the Davey ESC Max and ESC Max Plus in-line salt chlorinator series — also sold under the SCMax 77 and SCMax 155 model designations in some markets. It is not interchangeable with o-rings from other Davey chlorinator families such as the ESC, ESR, or EcoSalt 2 series. If you are unsure of your exact model, check the label on your chlorinator control box before ordering.

Davey specifies genuine replacement parts to ensure correct dimensional fit and material compatibility with salt-laden pool water. A correctly seated, genuine o-ring prevents water ingress into the cell head, protects the electrode connections from corrosion, and maintains the integrity of your chlorinator system. Using an ill-fitting aftermarket seal risks leaks, premature cell failure, and may affect your warranty.

Switch off the chlorinator and isolate the pump before removing the cell. Clean the union seat thoroughly, removing any debris or old sealant residue, then seat the new o-ring carefully without twisting. Refit the cell union hand-tight and check for leaks on restart. No tools or adhesives are required for a standard union o-ring replacement.
