This is a genuine Davey spare part — the 80mm union tail fitting for the SC Max electrolytic cell used in the Davey ESC Max and ESC Max Plus salt water chlorinator systems. The union tail connects the cell housing securely into the pool pipework, forming a watertight, tool-free joint that allows the cell to be removed for inspection or replacement without disturbing the surrounding plumbing. It is typically replaced when the fitting shows signs of cracking, thread wear, or leaking at the cell-to-pipework joint.

This union tail is designed specifically for the Davey ESC Max and ESC Max Plus salt water chlorinator series, fitted with the SC Max in-line electrolytic cell. The 80mm size denotes the union connection diameter; always verify your existing union tail size before ordering, as the SC Max range may use different union tail diameters depending on the installation. If in doubt, consult your Davey dealer or check the label on your chlorinator unit.

Davey explicitly cautions that using non-genuine parts can cause serious damage to the chlorinator electronics and will void the warranty. A genuine Davey union tail ensures an exact dimensional match and material compatibility with the SC Max cell housing, maintaining a reliable, leak-free seal in the chemically aggressive environment of a salt water pool system.

The union tail threads onto the SC Max cell housing and into the pool return pipework, allowing the cell to be disconnected and reconnected without tools for routine maintenance or cell replacement. Ensure the mating O-ring or seal is in good condition before refitting, and do not overtighten. Professional installation by a qualified pool technician is recommended if you are unsure of correct torque or pipework alignment.
