The M5001WB is the genuine Davey replacement pH probe for all ProMatic ESCpH salt water pool systems, including MPS, ESR, and ESC series controllers with integrated pH monitoring. Installed in-line in the pool’s return pipework, the probe continuously measures water pH so the controller can automatically dose corrective acid and maintain safe, comfortable water chemistry.

This probe is the OEM-specified part for all Davey ProMatic ESCpH controller variants — covering the MPS, ESR, and ESC series units equipped with the pH Monitor/Controller function. Always verify your controller model features the pH control module before ordering, as non-pH ESC and ESR units do not use this probe.

A genuine Davey pH probe is factory-calibrated to the tolerances expected by the ProMatic ESCpH control board, ensuring accurate pH readings and reliable automatic dosing. Third-party probes may produce signal drift that causes the controller to over- or under-dose acid, leading to poor water quality or equipment damage. Replacing with Davey part M5001WB guarantees signal compatibility and maintains any remaining system warranty.

pH probes have a finite service life and should typically be replaced when the controller displays persistent pH errors, calibration can no longer be achieved within normal parameters, or readings become erratic. Periodic recalibration using appropriate pH buffer solutions can extend probe life, but replacement is usually required every few seasons depending on water conditions and usage.
