The Water-ID POL2Sp-ls is the genuine replacement light shield assembly for the PoolLab 2.0 photometer, comprising the main light shield body and three individual hinged lids — one per measurement chamber. It is an essential optical component that blocks ambient and stray light from reaching the triple measuring cuvette during testing, ensuring every reading is taken under controlled conditions.

Photometric water analysis depends entirely on consistent optical conditions inside the measuring chamber. Without the light shield in place, ambient light interferes with the LED sensor path, causing false or unreliable readings across all 24 measurable pool water parameters — from free chlorine and pH to total alkalinity and cyanuric acid. Replacing a missing or damaged light shield restores the photometer to its intended factory measurement setup.

Compatibilité

This light shield is designed exclusively for the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 photometer and is not compatible with the earlier PoolLab 1.0 model. It works alongside the cuvette holder (POL2Sp-cuvhold), which keeps the cuvette correctly positioned while the light shield protects the measuring chambers from stray light.

Quand faut-il le remplacer ?

Replace the light shield whenever it is lost, torn, or no longer seals snugly over the cuvette chambers. If your PoolLab 2.0 is returning inconsistent or unexpectedly high readings that cannot be explained by reagent or water chemistry issues, a compromised light shield is a common cause. Simply open the three hinged lids, fill each cuvette chamber with your 10 ml water sample, add the appropriate reagent, close the lids, and proceed with measurement as normal.
