Water-ID – DPD No. 1 Free Chlorine Reagent Tablets – Pack of 250

These genuine Water-ID DPD No. 1 tablets are photometer-grade reagents for accurately measuring free chlorine levels in swimming pools and spas. Each tablet reacts with the DPD indicator chemistry to produce a colour change that the PoolLab 1.0 photometer reads instantly, giving you a precise mg/l result — no guesswork, no colour-chart comparisons. A pack of 250 tablets means fewer reorders and uninterrupted testing for busy pool operators and service technicians.

Why free chlorine matters

Free chlorine is the active disinfectant in pool water — present as hypochlorous acid, hypochlorite ion, or dissolved elemental chlorine — and it is the fraction immediately available to neutralise bacteria and other pathogens. Monitoring it regularly ensures your sanitiser dose is always effective: too little puts swimmers at risk; too much can cause irritation and equipment damage. The DPD No. 1 method covers a measurement range of 0.0–6.0 mg/l (ppm), spanning the full working range recommended for pools and spas.

How to use

Fill the PoolLab 1.0 cuvette with your water sample, add one DPD No. 1 tablet, and gently agitate until it dissolves completely. Place the cuvette into the photometer and read the result immediately. Tablets are individually blister-packed in aluminium push-through blisters (10 per blister) to protect against moisture and contamination, preserving reagent integrity and shelf life throughout the pack.

Compatibility & storage

These tablets are formulated specifically for the Water-ID PoolLab 1.0 photometer. Always confirm your photometer model before ordering, as reagent calibration is device-specific. Store in a cool, dry location between 15–25 °C, away from direct sunlight and humidity, to maintain accuracy across the full 2-year tablet shelf life.
