This is the OEM seal plate — known in Kripsol’s parts catalogue as the plateau d’étanchéité (RPUM0017.02R) — that forms the sealing interface between the pump casing and the motor bracket on the Koral KS, KSE, and Mini Kapri pump families. It sits between the wet end and the dry motor side, working in conjunction with the casing flange O-ring set (item 16) to maintain a watertight boundary and prevent water ingress towards the motor.

The seal plate closes and registers the rear face of the pump casing, providing the precise mating surface against which the casing flange O-ring seats. Without an undamaged seal plate, the O-ring cannot maintain its compression, and water migrates towards the motor bracket — a failure mode that typically destroys the mechanical seal and motor bearings in sequence. Keeping this part in good condition is the foundation of a leak-free wet end.

Part number RPUM0017.02R is listed in the current Kripsol spare parts catalogue as a shared component across the Koral KS and KSE pump range, which covers single-phase and three-phase models from 33 to 300 (0.33 HP to 3 HP). It also fits the Mini Kapri pump family as confirmed by the parent product record. Always cross-reference your pump’s model plate against the catalogue exploded diagram (item 17) before ordering.

Look for a water trail running from the rear of the pump casing towards the motor face — this points directly to a compromised seal plate or its mating O-ring. Visible cracks, warping, or surface erosion on the flange face are sufficient cause to replace the plate immediately; a deformed seating surface will destroy a new O-ring set within one season. If you are already replacing the casing flange O-ring set (500100130002), inspect this plate at the same time.

Switch off and isolate the pump electrically, close all valves, and drain the pump body via the drain plugs. Remove the four bolts attaching the pump casing to the motor bracket, withdraw the casing, and slide out the old seal plate. Clean the mating surfaces, fit the new plate, reseat the casing flange O-ring with neutral Vaseline, and torque the casing bolts evenly in a cross pattern. Refill, prime, and check for leaks at the joint before returning the pump to service.

What this seal plate does in the Koral
